How can your students get involved?
We are passionate about working in partnership with local schools and colleges.
To this end we are offering your school and students several exciting opportunities to get involved in TYD’s Theatre Makers Programme throughout the year.
Book a FREE “Approaching The Play” workshop at your school in September or October
This is a chance for your Year 11, 12 and 13 students to work with one of TYD Theatre Makers directors and to explore ways in which we will approach working on LORD OF THE FLIES.
This will also give students a chance to learn about the Theatre Makers Programme first hand and find out how they can get involved as cast or company members.
Student Work Experience Placements
For your students who are keen to pursue a career in the industry, being part of the cast of TYDs Theatre Makers will provide them with invaluable and highly sought-after experience.
TYD theatre makers programme can therefore offer work experience placements during our two-week full time intensive in July, when the theatre is operating at the height of the season.
Take part in our Schools Days
The culmination of the Theatre Makers Programme is the production of Lord of the Flies from 13th to 15th July, 2020. Our SCHOOLS DAYS will offer you the chance to bring your class to a whole day event to Tolethorpe. This will involve watching the production in the outdoor setting and taking part in both pre and post show workshops within the stunning grounds of Tolethorpe Hall.
The workshops will be led by the creative team and cast members and will give your students an in depth look at both the content and makings of Lord Of The Flies.
